The Celebration Turtle pop up card features a yellow cover laser-cut with a smiling green turtle in the grass clutching a purple and white striped birthday candle.
Once opened, the Celebration Turtle reveals itself and a beautiful forest-scene. With a lit purple and white striped candle on top of its dark green and brown shell, the Celebration Turtle is ready to celebrate your occasion. Behind the Celebration Turtle, a very long, brown log is covered with a butterfly, a caterpillar, red flowers, and red-crowned mushrooms. Along the inner panels of the card, the rich green grass alongside the riverbed is shown with the turtle at its center.
Inspiration for the Celebration Turtle card:
In his first fully independent design, Jason brought the Celebration Turtle to life. Usually designs will change quite a bit from the original sketch, but this one was different -- the Celebration Turtle stayed consistent throughout the process.
There were a couple of unofficial requirements that Jason had to fulfill when making the Celebration Turtle sculpture. First, there needed to be a candle somewhere in the card -- and where better than atop the turtle! Second, the card needed to be cute -- which was easily accomplished with the adorable turtle on both the cover and sculpture.
